1. Club '90s "Clueless" Night

We totally paused when we saw that there would be a "Clueless Night" at the Regent. Miss that? As if! We can't think of a better way to kick off the weekend: plaid skirts, platforms and remixes of "Rollin' With My Homies." Yes, please. Thanks Spaceland for another night of '90s nostalgia. Be sure to check out our interview with "Clueless" director Amy Heckerling on the teen classic's 20th birthday.

2. 'Big Hero 6' at the mall

Watch the robotics prodigy Hiro from San Fransokyo and his robot friend, Baymax, during Westfield Mall's free screening of "Big Hero 6" in Culver City and Sherman Oaks. Culver City moviegoers will have the chance to win a $50 gift card if they post a picture of themselves with a cardboard cut-out of Baymax and Hiro on Instagram. If you're headed to watch the movie in Sherman Oaks, you can win VIP treatment with a re-creation of a red carpet premiere. You're sure to wow the kids with that one.

3. 'The Clock': 24-Hour Screening

We know you've been meaning to check this off the awesome things to do list. "The Clock" returns to LACMA with its 24-hour mashup. Artist Christian Marclay has collected visuals from thousands of moments in TV and film to create this montage that shows time pass in a one-of-a-kind way. Catch the screening anytime between 10 a.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. Sunday. Pro tips: Enter the museum at Wilshire Boulevard and Spaulding Avenue if you're coming between 7 p.m. on July 25 and 10 a.m. on July 26. Coffee + Milk will be open until 2 a.m. and reopen at 7 a.m. on Sunday. Another 24-hour screening will happen Aug. 8.

4. SoCal Corgi Beach Day

And now we present the main attraction: Corgi Beach Day! Yes, it's happening again. Per usual, highlights include a corgi costume contest, an Instagram kissing booth, corgi merch and corglebrities. It'll be around 85 degrees and partly sunny in Long Beach on Saturday — perfect weather for chasing corgis in the sand! Pro tip: For every photo or video tagged with ‪#‎corgibeachday‬ and @beyondpetfood on Saturday, one pound of natural dog food will be donated to Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue.

5. National Dance Day

Let's groove together

So you think you can dance? Good news: You don't have to be great (or even good) to participate in this event. Get ready for a dancing day with "So You Think You Can Dance" creator Nigel Lythgoe and celebrities from the show. It's all happening at the Music Center downtown in light of National Dance Day. The festivities include short classes for all ages and interactive performances by some of the best and brightest young dance talent in Los Angeles. 

When: 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday

6. Grand Performances

See them perform Saturday

The dance party continues into the night Saturday with another installment of Grand Performances' Aftershocks series. The series looks at the aftermath of the Watts Riots through music and dialogue. This weekend: Kamasi Washington makes 1965 and 1992 socio-political conversations musical using the potent jazz and hip-hop voices of Ornette Coleman, Charles Mingus, Billy Higgins, 2Pac, Snoop and Cypress Hill. (This series is presented in partnership with KPCC.) Pro tip: There are free shows on Friday and Sunday, too. See a calendar here.

7. Adopt-A-Thon 2015

Check out this cute pup

Over 250 dogs, cats, rabbits, reptiles, rodents and livestock will be waiting to meet you at Ventura County Animal Services' 11th Annual Adopt-A-Thon on Sunday.  Make a new friend and take it home this weekend for half of the adoption price. Pet education classes, doggy playground presentations and 25 adoption counselors will be available in case you need extra help or advice.

8. 11th Annual Tiki Night

Explore the wonderful world of Tiki culture at the 11th Annual Tiki Night. Ukuleleists, Polynesian dancers, specialty cocktails and complimentary beer from the event's sponsor, Primo. The official Tiki Marketplace will open at noon with art, memorabilia and accessories. A screening of "South Seas Adventure" starts at 7:30 p.m.

10. US Open of Surfing

Cruisin' right along

If you're OK with crowds, head to Huntington Beach for the U.S. Open of Surfing. The annual event is an old tradition; the first one took place in 1959! Come out to see some of the best surfers in the world while soaking up the sun. Pro tip: Click here for a live feed. The official hashtag is #VansUSOpen.
